New market infrastructures inaugurated in Gabon and Côte d'Ivoire

New market infrastructures have been inaugurated in Gabon and Côte d'Ivoire to bolster local commerce and food security.

In Libreville, Gabon, President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema inaugurated the Grand Marché Général de Mindoubé 1. Spanning 5,000 square meters, the facility includes 130 stalls, 60 commercial boxes, a wholesale zone, a bakery, and a mini-market. The project aims to transition small-scale commerce from informal roadside settings into an organized space with essential amenities such as water, sanitation, and parking.

In Côte d'Ivoire, Deputy-Mayor Mariatou Koné inaugurated the Guinguéréni wholesale market near Boundiali. Part of the government's social program (PSGouv2), the market is designed to support the collection and marketing of food products to ensure local and national food security. The facility will serve as a collection point for produce within a 25 km radius, facilitating large-scale shipments for wholesalers.
