New metal releases featured in recent genre reviews

Recent reviews highlight new releases within the heavy metal genre. Swedish duo Zornhau is set to release their self-titled debut in 2025 via WormHoleDeath. The band plays atmospheric black/doom metal and ambient music, characterized by dark, slow tempos, tremolo guitar lines, and a mix of depressive screams and clean vocals.

In Germany, the band Bosparans Fall has released Götterspiel: Namenlose Tage through Gottesrache Records. Described as ‘Role-Playing-Metal’, the album blends melodic death, black, and pagan metal with German lyrics. The work is the second part of an album trilogy centered on the character Alrik Immerda and features orchestral arrangements and spoken-word passages to advance its fantasy-themed narrative.
