New Mexico teen arrested in connection with Roswell shootings
New Mexico State Police have arrested a 16-year-old boy, identified as Jedidziah Juarez, in connection with multiple shootings in southeast New Mexico. The investigation began on September 4 when officers stopped a speeding Nissan Altima in Eddy County.
During the traffic stop, Juarez reportedly refused to exit the vehicle and provided conflicting information. A subsequent search of the car led to the seizure of three firearms, ammunition, suspected narcotics intended for distribution, and drug paraphernalia. Ballistics testing later linked one of the seized weapons to two separate shooting incidents in Roswell.
Juarez was also identified as a subject of an investigation by the Artesia Police Department regarding a shooting in the Artesia area. He was apprehended on October 13 and faces several charges, including unlawful carrying of a handgun by a person under 19, unlawful carrying of a deadly weapon, possession of a controlled substance by a minor, and trafficking by distribution.
