New mountain hiking trails inaugurated in Beliș, Romania

Two new mountain tourist trails have been established in the Beliș area of the Apuseni Mountains through a collaboration between the Cluj County Public Service Salvamont-Salvaspeo and the company Emerson.

The first route, marked with a yellow cross, is an 8-kilometer circuit of low difficulty. It connects Beliș, Pârâul Rece, and Vârful Pipaș, taking approximately 3 to 4 hours to complete. It features a lookout point on Pipaș Peak and views of Lake Beliș.

The second route, marked with a blue dot, is a more challenging 21-kilometer circuit. It starts in Beliș, ascends to Măgura Călățele (the area's highest peak at 1,404 meters), descends toward Bălcești, and continues to the Pipaș Peak lookout before returning to Beliș. This trail involves an 800-meter elevation gain and is estimated to take 7 to 9 hours.
