New multidisciplinary performances debut in Brazil and Portugal
New multidisciplinary performances are set to debut in Brazil and Portugal, focusing on themes of memory and improvisation.
In Brazil, Matias Santiago will perform “Da Missa ao Corpo” at the Teatro Cidade do Saber (TCS). Directed by Daniela Guimarães, the solo performance integrates dance, music, cinema, and lighting through real-time improvisation. The work draws on Santiago’s choreographic memories from his seven-year tenure with the Grupo Corpo dance company between 1995 and 2001. The project aims to preserve Brazilian dance history and includes a workshop on scenic improvisation methodology.
In Santarém, Portugal, Carlos Oliveira will premiere the multidisciplinary show “Temporal” at the Teatro Sá da Bandeira on October 9 and 10. The production uses documentary archives to explore the theatrical journey of the creator’s father, also named Carlos Oliveira. The performance serves as a reflection on time and memory, lasting approximately 50 minutes.
