New municipal councils take office in Deurne and Gulpen‑Wittem

The Dutch municipality of Deurne introduced its new college of aldermen, with Wouter Bulten becoming the fifth member. Bulten, a former software entrepreneur and father of five, will oversee mobility, education and digitalisation, emphasizing safer traffic and modern digital services.

In the neighboring municipality of Gulpen‑Wittem, the council appointed a new college on 9 July 2026, comprising Mayor Nicole Ramaekers and aldermen Frans Derksen, Alain Hamaekers, Marc Hermans and Marion van der Kleij. Their coalition programme, titled “Dichtbij Duurzaam Daadkrachtig”, targets a strong, livable and future‑oriented community, with the final portfolio distribution to be published on 15 July.

Both municipalities aim to implement their respective coalition agreements during the coming term, focusing on local sustainability, digital advancement and citizen engagement.
