New NPP executives face rebuilding tasks following 2024 defeat

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has sworn in a new set of executives following its National Delegates Conference in Kumasi. The leadership team includes John Boadu as National Chairman, Justin Kodua Frimpong as General Secretary, Titus Glover as National Organizer, Abanga Fuseini Yakubu as National Youth Organizer, and Mavis Hawa Koomson as National Women Organizer.

Political scientist Dr. John Osae-Kwapong noted that the new officers face the critical task of rebuilding voter trust and rehabilitating the party’s image after its 2024 defeat. He emphasized that the executives must reconcile internal divisions caused by competitive primaries and work closely with the party's flagbearer.

In discussions regarding potential leadership, supporters of Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh (NAPO) highlighted his previous tenure as Education Minister (2017–2021). During that period, he oversaw the Free Senior High School programme and maintained industrial stability through engagement with teacher unions, a record being cited as relevant to the party’s future stability and stakeholder management.
