New Orleans hosts Bocuse d'Or qualifiers as Team USA sweeps gold medals

On July 26, 2026, New Orleans held the qualifying rounds of the Bocuse d'Or and the Coupe du Monde de la Patisserie (Pastry World Cup) at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.

Team USA won gold in both competitions, with the pastry team taking first place on Saturday and the culinary team securing the top podium on Sunday.

Local chefs hailed the event as a boost for the city’s food scene. Alon Shaya, chef and co‑owner of Saba and Safta’s Table, said, "It brings such great energy, with all these chefs and food enthusiasts here."

The victorious teams will travel to Lyon, France, in January for the final rounds of the world‑cup‑style contests.
