New Orleans Pelicans center Yves Missi suffers left knee injury
New Orleans Pelicans starting center Yves Missi sustained a left knee injury during a game against the Utah Jazz on Friday night. The injury occurred in the second quarter when Zion Williamson fell into Missi’s leg following a blocked shot.
Missi, a 22-year-old native of Cameroon, was unable to put weight on his left leg and had to be carried off the court. Pelicans head coach Jamahl Mosley stated that the player will be re-evaluated on Saturday.
Missi had recently secured a spot in the starting lineup, following a productive season debut where he recorded 13 points and 14 rebounds. If he is unable to play, Derik Queen is expected to take over starting duties.
