New Orleans Saints acquire Zamir White amid injury setbacks

The New Orleans Saints are restructuring their backfield following several roster changes and injuries. Running back Zamir White, nicknamed ‘Zeus’, has joined the team via a trade with the San Francisco 49ers. In the transaction, the 49ers received linebacker Deion Jones. White, a former Georgia Bulldog, has already begun participating in practices at the Saints' indoor training facility.

This acquisition comes as the Saints face significant depth issues in the running back and tight end positions. The team placed running back Ty Chandler and tight end Moliki Matavao on season-ending injured reserve due to knee injuries sustained during a preseason game against the Los Angeles Rams. Additionally, defensive back Rejzohn Wright has been placed on injured reserve, further impacting the roster.
