Lions and Saints release Week 1 injury reports

The Detroit Lions and New Orleans Saints have released their initial injury reports ahead of their Week 1 season opener at Ford Field.

For the Saints, veteran defensive end Cameron Jordan is listed as out for Sunday due to a hamstring injury. Tight end Oscar Delp and running back Audric Estime also did not participate in practice. However, Alvin Kamara returned as a limited participant following an MCL injury during the preseason.

The Lions' report includes several estimated designations, as the team had an off day on Wednesday. Christian Izien (groin), rookie edge rusher Derrick Moore (hamstring), and defensive lineman Mekhi Wingo (groin) are listed as limited participants. The Lions will continue to be without starting safeties Brian Branch and Kerby Joseph, who are on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list and must miss at least the first four games.

Lions head coach Dan Campbell expressed optimism regarding the team's offseason upgrades and the competitive atmosphere established during training camp.
