New Orleans Saints fire run game coordinator T. J. Paganetti
The New Orleans Saints have dismissed offensive run game coordinator T. J. Paganetti following a 2-5 start to the 2026 season. Head coach Kellen Moore announced the decision after the team's bye week, citing a need for adjustments to the rushing offense.
The Saints' ground game has struggled significantly, ranking 28th in the NFL with an average of 86 rushing yards per game. This follows a particularly difficult performance in Paris, where the team managed only 18 rushing yards in a 16-10 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Paganetti joined Moore's staff in 2025 after spending eight seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, where he contributed to a Super Bowl championship and a franchise-record rushing season. Players, including running back Kendre Miller and offensive lineman David Edwards, expressed support for Paganetti while acknowledging the business realities of the NFL.
