New Orleans Saints rookie Brock Rechsteiner suspended for six games

The NFL announced that rookie wide receiver Brock Rechsteiner, signed by the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent from Jacksonville State, will be suspended for the first six games of the 2026 season. The league did not disclose the reason for the penalty, though speculation has linked the length of the suspension to a possible performance‑enhancing drug violation. Rechsteiner remains eligible to participate in all preseason practices and games, but the suspension will take effect when teams trim rosters to the 53‑man limit.

Rechsteiner is the son of WWE Hall of Famer Scott Steiner and the nephew of fellow Hall of Famer Rick Steiner; his cousin Bron Breakker is a current WWE star. The family connection has drawn additional media attention, but the suspension could hinder Rechsteiner’s already slim chances of making the Saints’ final roster and may affect the team’s depth at wide receiver as the season approaches.
