New Orleans sees 11 new restaurant openings slated for 2026
Eleven new eateries are scheduled to open across the New Orleans metropolitan area in 2026. Among them, Procida, an Italian restaurant in the Marigny, will be led by chef Valeriano Chiella and is projected to open in the summer, featuring seafood‑focused dishes such as crudo, smoked swordfish carpaccio and grilled branzino. Byblos, a long‑standing Middle Eastern chain, will launch a new location on Lakeview’s main drag in early August, continuing its Lebanese menu and retaining patio seating from its previous venue. Kira Omakase, a high‑style Mediterranean‑Japanese omakase concept, is set for a mid‑August opening on Tchoupitoulas Street, with chef Yoshi Okai bringing two decades of sushi experience to the city. The remaining openings include a mix of new concepts and expansions, each slated for various points throughout the year, though exact timelines remain subject to construction and permitting delays.
