New Patriotic Party issues demands and leadership updates in Ghana

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has called for the resignation of Sports and Recreation Minister Kofi Adams following a controversy regarding visa issues linked to the FIFA World Cup. The party is demanding accountability, stating that the matter affects Ghana’s international sporting reputation and requires serious attention from the Sports Ministry.

Separately, former Education Ministry spokesperson Kwasi Kwarteng has declined an offer to serve as the NPP’s Deputy National Communications Director. Kwarteng stated that while he appreciated the approach from senior party officials, including the National Chairman and General Secretary, he believes he can serve the party more effectively in other capacities. He reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the party’s flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, in his presidential bid.
