New Patriotic Party leaders endorse JFK amid reports of poster destruction

Prominent figures within the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Ashanti Region have endorsed the incumbent General Secretary, Justin Frimpong Kodua (JFK), ahead of the party’s national executive elections. Endorsements were provided by Ashanti Regional Chairman Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, former Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital CEO Professor Otchere Addai-Mensah, and former Member of Parliament Kwadwo Baah Agyemang. Supporters cited Kodua’s administrative skills and loyalty as reasons for his retention to lead party restructuring ahead of the 2028 General Elections.

Concurrently, the Ashanti Regional Communications Director of the NPP, Dr. Kerskin Opoku Owusu, has raised concerns regarding the alleged destruction of campaign posters belonging to party aspirants. Dr. Owusu characterized these acts as a breach of democratic principles and called for intervention from security agencies. He specifically alleged that some of the destruction was linked to supporters of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) and warned that failure to address such incidents could lead to political retaliation.
