New Patriotic Party members address leadership and election security
Dr. Ekua Amoakoh, spokesperson for NPP flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has highlighted the party’s focus on improving election security ahead of the 2028 general elections. Reflecting on the 2024 elections, Amoakoh described instances of violence and polling agents being held at gunpoint, noting that police presence at collation centres was often insufficient to prevent disturbances.
In Germany, Member of Parliament Sammi Awuku has called for unity within the NPP Germany Branch. Addressing members in Hannover, Awuku urged the party to set aside internal divisions and prioritize collective commitment to rebuild structures and prepare for the 2028 elections. His visit serves as preparation for an upcoming engagement between the Germany branch and Dr. Bawumia.
Additionally, Dr. Amoakoh shared personal insights regarding her political motivations, citing a lifelong interest in governance and leadership. She expressed confidence in Dr. Bawumia’s potential presidency and defended his record against criticisms from the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
