New pickleball venues open in Oak Hill, WV and Livermore, CA

The City of Oak Hill, West Virginia, installed a portable, caster‑mounted pickleball net at Russell E. Matthew Park. The net can be rolled into place on the basketball court and must be returned to storage after use. The park operates on a first‑come, first‑served basis, and officials ask players to respect other users and report any vandalism.

In Livermore, California, the Planning Commission approved an indoor facility called Pickleball Kingdom to occupy the former JOANN Fabrics building at 4650 Arroyo Vista. The venue will feature eight courts, lessons, tournaments, a retail space and community rooms. Noise‑mitigation measures include sealed doors, thick masonry walls and acoustic insulation to keep exterior sound below 20 dBA. The facility is slated to operate daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
