New police chiefs inaugurated in Incheon and Seoul

New leadership has been appointed to the Incheon and Seoul Metropolitan Police Agencies.

Yoo Seung-ryeol has taken office as the 43rd Chief of the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency. He emphasized his commitment to protecting citizens from crime and accidents by analyzing regional security characteristics, such as international airports, ports, and industrial sites. Yoo stated he would strengthen safety nets for the vulnerable, targeting crimes like stalking, domestic violence, and child abuse, while also focusing on recovering proceeds from drug and gambling offenses.

Ko Bum-seok has been inaugurated as the 42nd Chief of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency. In his inaugural address, Ko prioritized adherence to basic principles and rules over flashy achievements. He stressed that maintaining public trust requires strict compliance with the constitution and laws, as well as preventing internal corruption and duty violations. He identified citizen safety, core principles, organizational empathy, and field-centered activities as the agency's key values.
