New police recruits deployed across New South Wales

New police recruits have been deployed across several New South Wales regions, including Kempsey, Port Macquarie, and Lismore, to increase officer visibility and community response capabilities. The recent intake includes Class 369, which is noted as the largest attesting class in the NSW Police Force in 14 years.

In the Lismore electorate, 22 new probationary constables have been assigned across the Richmond, Tweed/Byron, and New England Police Districts. Specifically, the Richmond Police District received eight recruits, Tweed/Byron received five, and New England received nine. Local representatives noted that these deployments are part of a broader effort to rebuild the police force, with the Richmond Police District having gained 60 new recruits since the current state government took office.

NSW Minister for Police and Counter-terrorism Yasmin Catley announced that the frequency of recruitment classes will increase from three to four per year to further bolster the ranks.
