New publications released in Angola regarding political succession and insolvency law
Two new books are being launched in Angola, addressing distinct areas of political history and legal framework.
Journalist Luís Costa will release “A Sucessão, a Bicefalia e Outras Histórias” in Lisbon on October 30, with a subsequent official presentation in Luanda on November 13. The book examines the 2017 political transition in Angola, focusing on the departure of José Eduardo dos Santos from the presidency and the rise of João Lourenço. It explores the internal power dynamics of the MPLA party and the debates surrounding the concept of “bicefalia,” or dual leadership, during the transition.
In the legal sector, the work “Colectânea Legislativa do Regime de Insolvência em Angola — Diplomas Fundamentais e Legislação Conexa” is scheduled for launch in Luanda on October 23. Authored by Gilson de Jesus Baptista Paulo, Álvaro Pereira Neves, and Danilo Bolonhês Pitta Gróz, the collection aims to systematize and facilitate access to the legislative framework governing insolvency in Angola. The publication is intended to serve as a resource for lawyers, judges, academics, and business professionals.
