New railway lines inaugurated in Madhya Pradesh

Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav have inaugurated two new railway lines: the Satna-Devendranagar and the Rewa-Churhat lines. These projects are designed to enhance connectivity across the Vindhya region, specifically benefiting the Sidhi district, and to strengthen transport links between Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.

The new infrastructure is expected to facilitate easier travel for residents, improve access to essential services like healthcare and education in regional centers like Rewa, and provide farmers with better access to markets. A new Devendranagar-Churhat-Devendranagar train service was also launched from the Nagod and Churhat stations.

Chief Minister Yadav noted that the 541-km-long railway project will serve several districts, including Lalitpur, Chhatarpur, Panna, Satna, Rewa, Sidhi, and Singrauli. He highlighted that approximately Rs 1.15 lakh crore has been sanctioned for railway projects in Madhya Pradesh to drive regional development.
