New Recruit 4 concludes with record viewership and drives TVING growth
The ENA drama ‘New Recruit 4: Sabotage’ concluded its run with a series-high viewership rating of 5.2% for its final episode. The finale featured the news of the Shinhwa unit's consolidation and introduced several new characters, hinting at the potential for a fifth season.
The success of the fourth season has significantly impacted the streaming platform TVING. The series held the top spot for weekly unique visitors on TVING for four consecutive weeks. This popularity has triggered a ‘reverse run’ of previous seasons, with ‘New Recruit 3’, ‘New Recruit 2’, and the original ‘New Recruit’ all appearing in the weekly top 10 for unique visitors.
TVING reported that the number of paid subscriber contributors for ‘New Recruit 4’ increased by approximately 25% compared to the previous season. To capitalize on this trend, the platform has opened a dedicated ‘New Recruit’ genre hall, grouping the series with other military-themed content such as ‘Steel Troops’ and ‘Real Men’ to strengthen its franchise IP strategy.
