New religious publications explore spiritual themes and historical figures

Two new religious volumes have been released, focusing on different aspects of Christian spirituality and historical figures.

La Libreria Editrice Vaticana has published ‘Gesù, il Cristo’, a 192-page work that compiles the catechesis of Pope Francis and Leo XIV. Designed for the Jubilee of Hope, the book traces the life of Jesus through the Gospels, covering his origins, parables, and healing gestures, concluding with the mystery of the Resurrection. The work aims to provide a practical spiritual path for navigating modern social challenges.

In Italy, a new volume titled ‘Francesco d’Assisi. Un uomo libero’ by Don Primo Mazzolari is being presented. Published by EDB, the book collects ten selected writings by Mazzolari regarding Saint Francis of Assisi. The collection explores the connection between the Saint’s message of poverty and freedom and Mazzolari’s own theological reflections on the Gospel’s ability to challenge power structures and advocate for the marginalized.
