New residential developments proposed in Newstead and Preston
Frank Developments has submitted a development application to the Brisbane City Council for a 22-storey tower in Newstead. Designed by Cavill Architects, the project at Wyandra Street will feature 147 apartments, 413 square metres of retail space, a co-working lounge, and an office. The design utilizes a multi-tower approach with varying heights to integrate with the surrounding Newstead and Teneriffe precinct.
In Preston, the City Council has unanimously approved plans for Morris Homes and CEG to construct 443 homes in Cottam. The decision follows negotiations regarding affordable housing requirements. By adopting a holistic approach that includes 102 affordable homes from a neighboring site by developer Breck, the combined schemes will meet local targets, providing a total of 164 affordable homes across 545 units.
