New school year begins with enrollment ceremonies in Lingen and Leimen, Germany

At Franziskusgymnasium in Lingen, the 2026 school year opened on 14 August with an 8:30 a.m. welcome service in the sports hall, followed by class teacher meetings and a brief break for parents. The day ended after the fourth lesson at 11:25 a.m., and a parent‑teacher evening is scheduled for 24 August.

In Leimen, St. Georgs Kindergarten held a farewell celebration for the graduating kindergarten class on 23 July. The event featured a sing‑circle, a backpack fashion show, and visits from local emergency services—including the fire brigade, rescue service, waste collection, and police—who demonstrated their vehicles and explained their duties. Children also received memory folders and a commemorative garden bench.

Both events marked the transition of children from kindergarten to primary school and involved parents, teachers, and community services.
