New seasonal shochu releases arrive in Japan

New seasonal shochu releases have arrived at various retailers in Japan. Yoshinaga Shuzo, located in Ibusuki, Kagoshima Prefecture, has released its 2026 Muroka Riha series, featuring both white koji and black koji varieties.

These specific products are seasonal, limited-edition spirits that are bottled immediately after distillation without filtration. This process preserves the natural white cloudiness and fermentation gases characteristic of freshly distilled shochu. Both varieties are available in 1,800ml bottles at 25 percent alcohol content.

Additionally, retailers have reported the arrival of new Isa Daisen sweet potato shochu.
