New skill-based mahjong video games announced for PC and Nintendo Switch
Two new mahjong video games featuring unique skill-based mechanics are being developed for different platforms.
TechNeed has announced that Senpou Mahjong is scheduled for release on PC via Steam in March 2027. The game will be free-to-play with in-game purchases and features a system where players use characters with specific skills, such as manipulating tiles or stealing points, to influence gameplay. A demo is currently available on Steam and via web browsers.
Meanwhile, Success is preparing to release the latest installment of the Gyuwan Burra Self-Centered Party series, titled ‘Gyuwan Burra Self-Centered Party: Make the Drump Empire Understand!’, for the Nintendo Switch. Developed by Zieg Games and Cosmo Machia, the game is based on the popular manga by Masayuki Katayama. It incorporates modern AI to create distinct character personalities and allows players to equip various skills to combat parody characters.
