New South Wales launches regional development initiatives
New regional development initiatives have been launched in New South Wales to support economic growth and workforce retention.
The Welcome Experience program is expanding into the North West region, including Gunnedah, Narrabri, Liverpool Plains, and Walcha. Managed by Regional Development Australia Northern Inland (RDANI), the initiative provides tailored support to essential workers—such as healthcare professionals, teachers, and emergency services staff—to assist with settlement, accommodation, and community connection to improve employee retention.
In the Northern Rivers and Tenterfield Shire, the ProspER 2040 plan has been officially launched. Developed by Business NSW Northern Rivers in partnership with Southern Cross University, this industry-led regional economic and environment plan aims to guide long-term investment and collaboration across government, business, and community sectors through 2040.
