New South Wales police arrest suspects in pursuit and livestock theft cases

Police in New South Wales have conducted several high-profile operations involving drug seizures and rural crime investigations. In Wellington, a 32-year-old man was arrested following a high-speed pursuit in a Ford sedan. The driver, who was wearing a black balaclava, allegedly reached speeds of 120km/h in a 50km/h zone before crashing into a fence near an aged-care facility. Upon arrest, officers discovered methylamphetamine and other prohibited items. The suspect faces seven charges and was denied bail.

Separately, Strike Force Vesta investigators successfully cracked a livestock theft case. The investigation began following reports of rangeland goats being unlawfully mustered from a property northwest of Bourke and transported to Enngonia using a fraudulent National Vendor Declaration. Following search warrants at livestock depots near Enngonia and Coolabah, a 39-year-old man was identified in connection with the theft.
