New South Wales police seize $200k cannabis, sentence driver for high‑speed chase

Police in the Lithgow area of New South Wales seized more than 120 cannabis plants and about 30 kg of dried cannabis, valued at over $200,000, after a search of a house revealed a hydroponic setup. Inspectors warned the public to watch for signs such as strange odours, diverted electricity, unusual chemicals, blacked‑out windows and frequent vehicle arrivals.

In a separate case, a 23‑year‑old woman from Gunnedah pleaded guilty to stealing a ute and leading police on a dangerous pursuit on Anzac Day. She was recorded driving up to 155 km/h, endangering the community, and was sentenced after appearing via video link from a prison cell.
