New South Wales police seize MAC‑10 and cocaine in organized‑crime bust
The NSW anti‑bikie squad stopped a vehicle at the Twelve Mile Creek heavy‑vehicle checkpoint after suspecting drug transport. A search uncovered a privately manufactured MAC‑10 submachine gun, a silencer, 150 rounds of ammunition and 62 g of cocaine.
The men arrested were Michael John Seymour, 40, of Wadalba on the Central Coast, and 60‑year‑old Peter Raymond Withers. Seymour had been hired to drive to the Gold Coast in August 2025 to collect the firearm and later offered to supply 2.13 kg of heroin via an encrypted messaging app. Both men appeared in court from jail, pleading guilty to firearm and drug offences; Withers pleaded guilty to supplying cocaine, while prosecutors dropped the firearm charges against him. Seymour pleaded guilty to possession of an unauthorised prohibited firearm and supplying a large commercial quantity of a prohibited drug. He is due for sentencing in Newcastle District Court next month, and Withers will face a hearing in Raymond Terrace Local Court.
Police linked the investigation to a prior car crash involving Seymour in 2024, which led to a search of his vehicle and phone and uncovered the broader criminal plan.
