New South Wales reports fatal police raid and motocross crash

A series of tragic incidents has been reported in New South Wales. In Leura, a 41-year-old man died following a police raid on Grose Street. Officers from the State Crime Command’s Sex Crimes Squad and the Public Order and Riot Squad were executing a search warrant when they encountered the man armed with a knife. The man stabbed himself during the encounter and died at the scene. An independent investigation by the Mt Druitt Police Area Command and the Law Enforcement Conduct Commission is underway.

In a separate incident, a nine-year-old girl passed away at Westmead Hospital following a serious motocross crash in Jerrong, near Oberon. The accident occurred on August 8 involving two motorcycles. Additionally, a multi-vehicle collision on Henry Parkes Way in Manildra left a woman critically injured.
