New South Wales trade mission seeks to boost India ties

A high-level trade mission from Australia’s New South Wales (NSW) to India aims to increase annual bilateral trade beyond USD 5 billion. Led by NSW Premier Chris Minns and Treasurer Daniel Mookhey, the four-day mission to New Delhi and Mumbai focused on strengthening ties in critical minerals, high technology, infrastructure, and tourism.

During the visit, officials held meetings with Indian Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, as well as state leaders including Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. The mission seeks to deepen the partnership to better navigate geopolitical shifts and trade disruptions.

In a separate engagement, Indian High Commissioner Nagesh Singh met with South Australian Premier Peter Malinauskas to discuss strengthening ties between India and South Australia.
