New specialty cafes and dessert brands launch in Japan

Breatha Cafe, a decaf specialty coffee shop, has opened in Tochigi City, Japan. Located on the second floor of the Tochigi Kura no Machi Tourism Hall, the cafe allows customers to choose their preferred caffeine levels: 0%, 50%, or 100%. The shop offers a unique tasting set for three people per day and provides discounts for maternity, nursing, and mothers visiting alone to encourage relaxation.

Meanwhile, R Baker is expanding its dessert brand, Tokyo Age Dorayaki, with a limited-time pop-up at Kyobashi Station in Osaka from October 13 to 16, 2026. This marks the brand's first entry into the Kansai region. The shop features fried dorayaki made with rice oil and offers a signature kinako-covered mochi version. R Baker intends to use this small-scale franchise model to expand nationwide, targeting high-traffic station areas and department stores.
