New sports facilities opened in Jablůnka and Jirkov
New sports facilities have been opened in the Czech towns of Jablůnka and Jirkov.
In Jablůnka, the Road and Motorway Directorate (ŘSD) inaugurated a new football complex. The facility was constructed as a replacement for an original pitch that stood in the path of the new I/57 highway construction. The project, costing approximately 56 million CZK excluding VAT, includes a playing field, grandstand, changing rooms, a children's playground, a parking lot, and walkways. This development is part of the larger I/57 Semetín–Bystřička road project, which has a total estimated cost exceeding 1.7 billion CZK.
In Jirkov, a new multifunctional sports hall has opened, representing a major investment of approximately 200.8 million CZK including VAT. The three-story facility is designed for various ball sports, including futsal, floorball, volleyball, and basketball, and can also host cultural events. The hall features a capacity of up to 500 spectators and can accommodate 160 players in its changing rooms. The project was supported by a subsidy of over 55.2 million CZK from the National Sports Agency.
