New sports infrastructure projects launched in Germany and Austria
New sports infrastructure projects have been launched or inaugurated in Germany and Austria. In Eisenharz, Germany, a new gymnasium and festival hall has officially opened following over a decade of planning and construction. Mayor Roland Sauter noted the project's significance for the local community, despite initial challenges regarding high cost estimates.
In Stegersbach, Austria, construction has commenced on a new federal high-performance center for roller sports. The project, estimated at approximately 6.2 million euros, is expected to be completed by the second quarter of 2028. The facility will feature two independent halls designed to host national teams, international elite squads, and youth talent year-round, regardless of weather conditions.
