New sushi restaurants launch in Akita and Ichikawa, Japan

A new branch of the rotating sushi chain 海鮮寿司 まぐろ亭 opened on July 7 2026 in the Yamanote‑dai area of Akita City. The outlet, the second location after the original 回鮮まぐろ亭, offers lunch sets such as the “luxury extreme lunch” with fresh tuna, salad and miso soup, and operates from 11:00‑14:00 for lunch and 16:00‑21:00 for dinner.

In Ichikawa, Chiba Prefecture, the sushi restaurant 鮨やまぐち is scheduled to open in early August 2026 on the former site of the eel shop 鰻の成瀬 near Gyotoku Station. The shop will serve a range of sushi and a take‑away inari sushi called “INARI TOSHI,” featuring a regional specialty from Kumamoto.
