New Taipei City advances major urban renewal and transit projects

New Taipei City is advancing major urban renewal and transit-oriented development projects in the Yonghe and Tamsui districts.

In Yonghe, Hanting Construction, a subsidiary of the Han Royal Group, has been selected for a large-scale urban renewal project near Dingxi MRT Station. The project involves an investment of over NT$21.3 billion to construct four buildings ranging from 28 to 35 stories. The development aims to integrate residential, commercial, and public spaces, including a direct underground connection to the Dingxi MRT Station. The project is expected to reach a total sales value of approximately NT$40.6 billion and will feature public facilities such as an elderly care center and a community activity center.

In Tamsui, the New Taipei City Government has launched a bidding process for a development project near the Danhai Light Rail Tamsui Administrative Center Station. The approximately 910-坪 site can be utilized for residential, retail, or office purposes. This initiative follows the opening of the Danjiang Bridge and the introduction of the ‘Dan Hai Science City Plan,’ which aims to link Tamsui with Taipei Port, Wugu, and Taoyuan Aerotropolis. While the area sees significant infrastructure growth, market data indicates a high volume of unsold housing in the Tamsui district.
