New Taipei City families volunteer for disability employment support

The New Taipei City Volunteer Service Promotion Center, in collaboration with the Baihe Volunteer Service Association and the Down Syndrome Foundation, recently held the ‘Mooncake Heart Companion’ family volunteer experience day. Held at the ‘Ai Bu Luo Suo’ logistics center in Sanchong, the event encouraged families to participate in assembling mooncake boxes and packaging products to support employment opportunities for people with disabilities.

During the activity, volunteer families assembled 468 mooncake gift boxes. Participants noted that the task required significant patience and focus. Lin Zheng-xia, Chairman of the Down Syndrome Foundation, emphasized that the logistics center provides professional training to help individuals with disabilities gain work experience, build confidence, and integrate into society.

Li Mei-zhen, Director of the Social Affairs Bureau, stated that the center aims to lead families through diverse service areas, ranging from environmental protection to supporting disability services. The initiative seeks to promote respect, equality, and social inclusion through hands-on community engagement.
