New Taipei City honors 29 dining establishments for energy efficiency

The New Taipei City government held the second annual Green Hero awards to recognize 29 dining and service industry establishments for their commitment to energy efficiency and carbon reduction. The awards evaluate businesses based on electricity performance, equipment efficiency, and sustainable operational practices.

Top honorees included the Shuiwan Restaurant Bali Branch, which utilized shading designs and high-efficiency equipment, and Tanaka Fangyuan Wellness Food, which implemented vertical greening to reduce heat load. The city government aims to use this energy efficiency rating system to help businesses manage electricity usage, reduce costs, and support the region's 2050 net-zero emission goals.

In a separate sustainability achievement, Global Mall was awarded the Bronze level at the 8th National Corporate Environmental Protection Awards. The shopping mall was recognized for its science-based carbon reduction targets, energy monitoring systems, and efforts to help its tenants obtain green dining certifications.
