New Taipei City hosts 2026 Good Market Festival in Banqiao

The 2026 New Taipei Good Market Festival commenced on October 17 at the Banqiao Fuzhong Plaza, featuring 40 popular food stalls from New Taipei City, Taipei, Keelung, and Taoyuan. Under the theme ‘Opening a New Chapter for Markets,’ the event is part of the ‘Fuzhong Fantasy City’ series and includes themed exhibitions, stage performances, and stamp collection activities.

New Taipei Mayor Hou You-yi highlighted the city's ongoing market renovation initiative, noting that 7 billion TWD has been invested since 2019 to modernize traditional markets. To date, 15 markets have been renovated, with 10 additional reconstruction projects currently underway. The goal is to transform traditional markets into multifunctional spaces for consumption, culture, leisure, and community exchange.

The festival extends into the evening through a relay event involving Banqiao Xinxing Night Market, Nanya Night Market, and Yingge Longfeng Night Market. Participants can receive gifts through various promotions, including environmental recycling incentives and digital coupons via the ‘My New Taipei City’ app using the New Taipei Coin system.
