New Taipei City hosts community care exhibition for seniors

The New Taipei City Social Affairs Bureau held the annual Community Care Center Achievement Exhibition at Citizen Square under the theme ‘Eternal Childhood, Trendy Aging!’ The event aimed to promote intergenerational integration by combining nostalgic traditional games with modern technology.

Activities included a cross-generational spinning top duel featuring participants over 65 and under 30, as well as interactive stations such as uGYM rafting simulators and AI-assisted digital cooking experiences. The exhibition featured performances from various local care centers and celebrity guests, including Huang Hsi-tien and Xu Fu-kai.

Mayor Hou You-yi attended the event, noting the importance of social interaction for seniors to prevent depression and isolation. He highlighted that the city currently operates 1,198 silver clubs, 652 community care centers, and 854 apartment-based preparatory classes to ensure elderly residents can easily access social and educational resources near their homes.
