New Taipei City launches Little Prince landscape installation at Bitan

The New Taipei City Government has inaugurated the ‘Bitan Landscape Installation Exhibition — Meeting the Little Prince, Wandering Through Bitan’ to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the classic French literary work. The event, presided over by Mayor Hou You-yi, features a massive 19-meter-wide inflatable installation of the Little Prince on a boat, a 3-meter-tall fox figure, and 70 synchronized glowing water bicycles to create a nighttime spectacle along the Xindian River.

The 58-day exhibition includes various cultural and commercial activities, such as the ‘Hope Market,’ the ‘Little Qing New Coffee Festival,’ and street art performances. Local businesses are participating with themed promotions, including discounts on swan boats and special gift sets. Additionally, the city is promoting the historic Xindian Ferry, the only remaining manual ferry crossing in Taiwan, to connect visitors to the Hemeishan hiking trails.

To encourage local economic engagement, the city is integrating the ‘New Taipei Coin’ digital currency into the event, allowing participants to redeem coupons through the ‘My New Taipei City’ app.
