New Taipei City promotes Wanjin agritourism through local culture tours

The New Taipei City Agricultural Bureau has launched specialized tourism initiatives to promote the local culture and industries of the Wanjin area, specifically focusing on the Wanli and Jinshan districts.

One program, the “Mountain and Sea Fishing Village Wander,” offers immersive experiences in the Huanggang Fishing Village. Participants can walk the historic Fish Road Ancient Trail, sample seasonal local seafood, and engage in traditional crafts such as making brushes from Lin-tou plants.

Another initiative, the “Wanjin Azalea Autumn One-Day Tour,” focuses on the region's significant azalea industry, which produces approximately 80% of Taiwan's azalea seedlings. The tour includes visits to smart aesthetic greenhouses, interactions with professional flower farmers, and hands-on workshops like creating azalea moss balls. The program also features visits to local landmarks such as the Jinshan Old Airport site and various local eateries to showcase regional flavors.
