New Taipei mayoral poll shows Su Chiao-hui leading amid data disputes

A recent poll by the Era Poll Center regarding the New Taipei mayoral race shows Democratic Progressive Party candidate Su Chiao-hui leading Kuomintang candidate Lee Sichuan with 37.8% to 32.2%.

However, the results have faced significant criticism regarding data integrity and sample representation. Critics and Lee Sichuan’s campaign office have pointed out discrepancies in the numbers, noting that the sum of sub-categories in certain analyses exceeded the total sample size of 1,070.

Lee Sichuan’s campaign spokesperson, Guo Yin-lan, stated that the poll’s political leaning—showing 30.4% for the DPP and only 17.9% for the KMT—differs greatly from the actual electoral structure of New Taipei City. The campaign maintains that their internal data shows Lee leading steadily.
