New Taipei police seize 416 drug‑laced coffee packs during Typhoon Bawi

During the passage of Typhoon Bawi, New Taipei City police raided a mixed‑type drug‑coffee‑pack operation in the Sanzhi Road area of the Xinzhuang district. Officers seized 416 coffee packets containing methamphetamine, ketamine powder and other stimulants, along with packaging equipment and large quantities of empty bags. Three Vietnamese‑national suspects—a 30‑year‑old man, his 26‑year‑old wife and a 24‑year‑old male associate—were arrested and transferred to the New Taipei District Prosecutor’s Office for prosecution under the narcotics control law. The police emphasized that drug enforcement continues unabated despite the storm, aiming to dismantle the supply chain and protect public safety.
