New Taipei traffic crash injures female motorcyclist near Danjiang Bridge
On August 4, a 64‑year‑old man identified only as Mr. Lin drove a small car across a double‑yellow line on Shalun Road in New Taipei's Tamsui district and turned left into a parking lot. He collided with a 48‑year‑old female motorcyclist, Ms. Pan, who was traveling straight. The impact knocked Ms. Pan and her motorcycle to the ground, causing multiple abrasions. She was taken to hospital and, after treatment, was reported to be out of life‑threatening danger. Mr. Lin was unharmed. Police confirmed that both drivers had a zero blood‑alcohol reading and found no evidence of intoxication. The driver was cited for violating traffic regulations under the Road Traffic Management Penalty Act and further investigation will determine full responsibility.
