New theatrical productions announced in Austria and Germany
New theatrical productions are launching in Austria and Germany. In St. Stefan ob Stainz, Thomas Sobotka is bringing together former members of the t’eig theater family for a new project at the Stieglerhaus. The production will combine four plays by Anton Chekhov, such as ‘The Seagull’ and ‘Uncle Vanya’, blending classical themes with the personal experiences of the performers.
In Berlin, the Kulturzentrum Brotfabrik will host a new format from the ensemble Theater ohne Probe titled ‘Durch die Wand – Politisch. Episch. Improvisiert.’ Scheduled for September 2026, the show utilizes improvisational techniques inspired by Brechtian epic theater. The format encourages audience participation by allowing spectators to contribute current political or personal topics to serve as the basis for the improvised narratives.
