New theatrical productions debut in Paraguay and Argentina
The independent theater project Teatro en Camino has launched a tour with the play ‘La peregrina. Solo se trata de sobrevivir’. Starring Aura Brítez and directed by Natalia Benítez, the production focuses on social issues including migration, sexual violence against women, and human trafficking. The tour begins in Altos, Paraguay, at the Colegio Nacional Mariscal López, with subsequent presentations planned for San Bernardino, Eusebio Ayala, and Caaguazú. Supported by the National Secretariat of Culture of Paraguay, the free performances include discussions with students and teachers.
In Argentina, the Ítaca Complejo Teatral will premiere ‘Solo’ on October 5. Directed by Guillermo Ghio, the play is an adaptation of August Strindberg’s 1903 novel ‘Ensam’. The production explores themes of solitude and introspection through the story of a writer facing a creative block. The 55-minute performance features acting and direction by Ghio, with vocal contributions from Celeste Cid and Carlos Portaluppi.
